There's an entirely conceivable scenario where she made the judgment that pressing charges was over-the-top (or that it would cause more harm than good), and someone else entirely witnessed and leaked it without her consent.

There are so many possible scenarios given the absence of information.

But that doesn't stop the blind, loud certainty from many that it's definitely not true.

It wouldnt be up to just her on whether to press charges.

But as the police have confirmed, no incident has taken place to their understanding.

I cannot see a world, where a headlock/assault on a senior official would not be reported by the police. They may not pursue, but they would be aware.

Probaliatically, it's very unlikely to have happened, and the entire support base have been smeared by the right wing press.

I'd expect that if she knew who leaked it and put out an official club statement against her wishes, that as the CEO, she would sack that person.

Unless she wanted to play it down mate and no have police involvement.

It would not be relevant really mate. There are police/stewards present, and if they witnessed that assault, they would arrest, and have a record of it.

If DBB didnt want to press charges, then it may be dropped, but it wouldnt have relied on her in the first instance.

In the same way that the idiot at Tottenham yesterday will be arrested, long before they clarify whether Ramsdale wants to press charges.

The fact the police have no record of any incident needs clarifying.

This, emphatically. Especially when said senior official is female. Not a chance it doesn't get reported to some authority somewhere. Not in 2023.

None. The lengths some people are going to in order to stretch this situation into something believable is extraordinary.

They need to put out some evidence to back up this allegation because at the moment that's all it is and the cynical of us can see many reasons why they would choose to lie if that is the case.

The club have made no such statement though. The one statement they made does mention "targeted physical abuse" but makes no mention of DBB or headlocks. THAT has come from "an unnamed source"

Aye, only caveat to that is what @GrandOldTeam pointed out about their statement pre game on Saturday. It mentions physical aggression and would have had to be signed off by DBB herself.

The leaping straight to 'LIE' by so many has left me cold. Disappointed how many are ready to reject the idea of a woman being assaulted entirely out of hand, just because they think she's not good at her job.

Have you ever thought people rejected it out of hand, because there is no record of it by the police? You know, the people who would be present to witness this alleged incident? Just a thought like.

Maybe the police are lying though?
