Really depends if he's the man stopping us pulling the trigger on Lampard for sentimental reasons?Surely, surely we have reached the point of an attempted dramatic face saving emotional stepping down from Bill, stubborn as he is?
“Everything I’ve ever done was for the club blah blah….maybe football has moved on blah blah…. let someone else take the lead in bringing success back to club I love.”
Still don’t think it gains us any points this season. Whoever was involved in these shenanigans, he needs to fall on his sword; you can’t really bin an entire board in 5 minutes. The lure of a teary theatrical statement might even tempt him to do it? Maybe?
A sincere apology while also providing the breadcrumbs to the main source of this bullshit, which leaves none of us surprised. Thanks Wright.Fair play to him - top man. He's had it called to his attention and called it out.

Reckon Bellew. Fits the profile of someone who would know Wright and Kenwright and kisses the ring.I’d be VERY interested to know who the person was who sent their WhatsApp conversation with Kenwright to Wright on the morning of the Saints game.
Wright claims it was from someone “very high up”, who knows Kenwright very well. At first I thought he meant it was someone from within Everton, but on rewatching, Wright doesn’t explicitly say that, though it could have been.
I won’t name names, but if it wasn’t from someone within EFC, there is a very likely candidate who it could have been, who was on the board at Arsenal during Wright’s time there, who is also a well known friend of Kenwright.
No matter who it came from, they would have known that Wright was on MOTD that evening, and it could be seen as an extremely cynical and provocative way for the EFC board to get their “narrative” across on live national TV.
I think there could be even more to this, and Wright perhaps knows even more than he’s letting on, as he seemed genuinely gutted that he’d potentially been lied to.
What an absolute farce this circus is turning into.
