I’d be VERY interested to know who the person was who sent their WhatsApp conversation with Kenwright to Wright on the morning of the Saints game.

Wright claims it was from someone “very high up”, who knows Kenwright very well. At first I thought he meant it was someone from within Everton, but on rewatching, Wright doesn’t explicitly say that, though it could have been.

I won’t name names, but if it wasn’t from someone within EFC, there is a very likely candidate who it could have been, who was on the board at Arsenal during Wright’s time there, who is also a well known friend of Kenwright.

No matter who it came from, they would have known that Wright was on MOTD that evening, and it could be seen as an extremely cynical and provocative way for the EFC board to get their “narrative” across on live national TV.

I think there could be even more to this, and Wright perhaps knows even more than he’s letting on, as he seemed genuinely gutted that he’d potentially been lied to.

What an absolute farce this circus is turning into.
When I first listened I thought he meant someone high up in the BBC, so one of his bosses, which is why he then spoke about it. And then I thought what you have just suggested.

But I doubt we will ever know. All we are clear of, is that in this case Bill has apparently spread the information and someone high profile who has then shared it on national Tv now has enough belief that he was lied to he has had to come out and make a statement apologising.

The above portrayed conversation (as with the alleged “headlock”), may not have actually taken place.

….surely time for the Everton Fans Group to now demand an official response from the Board on the lack of evidence supporting their defamatory statements.

i said at the time, whoever is behind this has done nothing but drive an even greater wedge between the Board and its supporters. They have tried to be clever but they aren’t clever. It’s symptomatic of the whole sorry mess the club is in. There is no coming back from this.

in the meantime, it’s important fans act with dignity and maintain the moral high ground.

It's just occured to me (I'm a bit slow), but Ian Wright says that before the match, he was in communication with somebody high up at Everton who is in direct communication with bill kenwright. He leads you to believe that that person told him the same claims that the media was reporting. Does that not effectively mean that kenwright was the one pushing the narrative?

It's what the actual content of what Ian Wright has been made aware of, but not actually revealed, that is of importance, apart from the identity of that person. It must be worded in such a way that there is no ambiguity for him to make such a personal public apology. I wonder if the original BBC Radio 5 Live woman Juliette Ferrington will be twittering away in due course, her reputation is also up in the air if she has been compromised by porkies.

I may not be the first to say this but @tommye with this thread may just have brought down this despicable house of cards for the future good of the club and, if so, he should have a statue in his name outside BMD.

Although, I suspect, it may be posthumous as he probably now has a price on his head ?

When talking about Kenwright and a person very high up at EFC and close to Kenwright.
Wright says in a WhatsApp message "the correspondence between them and then to me" made him angry.
It sounds like Wright saw the WhatsApp conversation (or was even in a group with) between Kenwright and this other person.
That WhatsApp thread is the smoking gun.

Its all well and good for us to know that the board is completely full of...stuff. We've known it for 2 decades. The narrative is out there that the board has been assaulted and threatened by us supporters. I doubt Wright is the start of the avalanche of walking back what they said. He'll most likely be the exception rather than the rule.

Just so disgusted with everything right now..

Literally says it was fed down from Bill and a top level executive who is friends with Bill. It’s not an anonymous leak. It’s coming directly from the board.

is anyone, apart from the usual few, that is surprised with that ? Kenwright has had the media in his pocket for years, he is part of it and the disgraceful Liverpool Echo has led that, through fear and threats off Kenwright. It's a terrible time to be an Evertonian, but at the very least the Rats are being driven from the sewers along with chief Rodent Kenwright.

I dunno, He's a fairly big exception to the rule.
It doesn't matter what everyone else says.
What matters is that, given Wrights statement, and other aspects of all this, the board have lost all credibility with the media.
I cant imagine the likes of Lineker is to happy with the club either.

It's time for Evertonians to go for the jugular (peacefully of course) but during games.
First at W ham away and then a last stand at Arsenal at home.
We'll go in to that game with one or two loan signings and Lampard still in charge, with no word from the board and owner, none of whom will be there.
It'll be do or die at that point.
The Owner needs to agree to sell the club.
The CEO and board need to be replaced with temporary positions.
The manager needs to be replaced with someone who can insure safety.

For the first time in a very long time, Everton fans have the power to push this forward.
