You are being hopelessly naive if you think those clubs will be permitted to fail. If they go, our money stream will dry up and we will falter. Our finance is linked with their participation in the league.
Without them, the collective attraction of the PL drops massively and the money dries up. All clubs have lost money this season. Another hit could send many clubs under.
Whave been shielded by our owner and relatively lower reliance on match day revenue. Many other clubs have not.
Do I think football will cease. No not really.
However, many many clubs could go to the wall and I don’t think that is an acceptable price to pay.
You can’t make the punishment cause the situation we are trying to prevent.
They signed a Contract with the ESL.
What are the Consequences of breaking that Contract?

They may be very significant. We don’t know, but if Perez is to be believed it’s an unbreakable oath sealed with blood.

It could still have quite a devastating impact.

City and Chelsea will be ok because their owners are so wealthy, but not necessarily the others.

Anything below 100m is chump change, that's like a bad player signing. Has to be more, a lot more.
If they get fined lets say £50m they just wont buy any players it will have an impact. I think the owners will start pulling back anyway and that will result in less money for transfers. JWH face has got so much botox he didn't reveal whether his mood. They'll get a 12 month transfer ban, I'm sure of it.

the words are easy to stand for sure. But for it to be preferential treatment, there would be need to be a fixed punishment or a precadent to be measured against.

If they went into admin & the PL said, don't worry about it, you're too big to be docked points - that is preferential treatment.

Any punishment here, because of its first time nature isnt preferential. You could see them relegated 4 divisions, in that case did wigan get preferential treatment because the were only docked points?
Right, so we are going down the route of there is no precedent for something of this nature, I see where you are going with this.

Id say that trying to undermine and backhandedly set up a rival competition to the governing bodies of the 2 competitions they are affiliated to is pretty serious stuff, wouldn’t you?

Whilst at the same time creating a closed shop of wealth and reward and going against the very fabric of the concept of sport they perform in, is also pretty serious stuff.

So asking me for precedents I do not believe is really that relevant.

I'm well and truly grown up fella.
In fact i've been going the game for over 50 years , home & away some years.

At the height of my support i like all blues fans had our finest team ripped apart and a period we have never recovered from for an injustice that our team & fans had nothing to do with.

There's plenty on here spelt this out to you , many teams & fans have been punished for injustices they had no part in .
Your narrative of the fans of the Scab 6 clubs shouldnt be punished for the actions of their owners doesnt wash & their clubs should take any medicine dished out , as goes with the territory.
It's just going right over your head isn't it. Heysel and the greed of the Kopites present owner are in no way connected, yet you persist in trying to link them. You may be over 50 but your IQ obviously isn't.

Keep posting mate its making me look good ;)

Are you just a WUM ?
Or you just cant grasp the concept of whats been good enough punishment for others should be good enough for these Scab clubs.

I agree it's wrong and throw the bloody book at them; but this notion of preferential treatment because they are who they are is BS

There is no rule of treatment for this, they could get expelled from PL (in theory) or like La liga get off scott free

It's pretty simple....

If you don't have punishments and future deterrents then something like this will almost certainly happen again.

So you dish out some form of punishments now, but change the rules of the PL and UEFA so that any future unsanctioned breakaway would result in enormous fines and expulsion.
