Would be good if Uefa went first and hit them with a ban. A one year European ban would be brilliant but it’s interesting that City were charged with two years for breaking FFP before it was overturned.

Stopping those 6 having europe this season would mean CL football for Leicester West Ham Everton and probably Leeds or Villa. These clubs would be transformed.

If the PL then grew a pair and hit them with a points deduction starting next season then once again top 4 would be difficult for them. This punishment isn’t even that bad considering what they did but they’re all so maxed out to the eyeballs that apart from City and Chelsea not many of them could survive two years without CL football without having to sell a lot of assets (that’s even if they want to play for them anymore).

It would take them a long time to recover and in the intervening period other teams will have improved and maybe even won something god forbid.

This is exactly what I’ve been saying - punish them in a way that empowers other teams - prevents the ability to consolidate power going forward and ultimately makes for better competitions.

No-ones going bust, they all have assets (players) to sell so pleading poverty is ridiculous.

Fines mean nothing to these scab leeches.

Whatever the authorities do, it needs to be a substantial number of different types of sanctions along with reform of the pl and cl rules, and change in ownership rules across the football world (50+1 maybe.).

If they don't do enough to crush this coup attempt, this thing will never go away (Perez and the rest are still talking about it FFS - these scabs need their supposed power eroding away to nothing.

They should also loose any vote/say in the pl going forward and follow where the 14 clubs lead and say so, at least until they get rid of these owners.

The media and rs whitewash is bordering on the criminal - Herr shippmann mask has really slipped this season, and especially in relation to his owners part in this debacle - he's there for the shilling and doesn't give two Fuchs about the world's game, or his legions of cult like legacy followers.

He has less socialist values than bojo and his cronies.

The top European clubs have threatened to have a breakaway Euro league every 3 years since 1992 in order to blackmail uefa into giving them an ever increasing slice of pie. Every time uefa give them a bigger slice of the pie and every time we move further away from true competition. And every time, it becomes harder to ever go back to true competition.

The biggest punishment uefa could ever give them is to say we are going back to the european cup the way it used to be. League winners only, random draw from round 1, prize money capped at 5 Million or so.

That would stop clubs becoming all powerful, and even up the playing field. Which is the exact opposite of what their owners want

But it's also the exact opposite of what UEFA want, because the way the CL has gone near-guarantees all the big clubs across Europe will meet in high-stakes games late in the season and that pushes the money available through TV and sponsorships through the stratosphere, resulting in far more dosh in the trough for all the execs in Nyon.

There's a three way struggle in football between sport, entertainment and business, and any movement in one direction is at the expense of at least one of the other two.

yep, Uefa are just as bad. It's a vicous cycle unfortunately, and there really appears to be no way (or motivation) to bring the game back to what it used to be

Except you aren't and instead you are just spouting crap.

Moshiri owns us. Can you prove he is laundering money? I doubt it.
I don’t care to be honest. I’m delighted we are backed by a billionaire willing to invest in the club.
He has my full support.

This, very much so. If the FA and UEFA wanted a great competition then this would deliver that, but they want a marketable procession of thew same old same old,

If there are to be European bans on the Syphilitic Six, they have to be for seasons in which they qualified for Europe. As it stands now, Arsenal would not qualify, so a ban next year would be pointless, and the likes of Spurs and the Crimson Crap may only squeak into the Europa League (which has that back door entry into the CL, remember).

I'd demote them and ban them from Europe. I remember back in the day Swindon won promotion to the top flight but were demoted due to financial irregularities. I didn't realise they stayed up on appeal, but even so. This is far worse. Rangers in Scotland are the "test case" and others in Italy. 1985 equally shows a hard line punishment that hurt more than just the guilty club. Maybe they can get a dose of bitter.
