So we're ace now are we???

Just wait till we lose 5-0 to Sydney

Our current squad is already good enough to be competing for 4th spot next season.

If we have our key players healthy for the whole season yes. But last season showed that without a few keyplayers we're far from a Europe-challenging team. Just look at the first half of last season, the half we had before our players became fit to play we weren't even top10 material. During the second half we played very well, generally speaking, and showed how good we can be. But we need good cover for our key men to really challenge for the top-spots... unless we are lucky in the injurydepartment.

Full of 19s and 20s.
Potential rating is max.
Can play anywhere in midfield.
Wonderkid.
I'm good at editing.

Everton are expected to sign Azerbaijan teen sensation Araz Abdullayev in the January transfer window.

Sportsmail first revealed the Merseysiders’ were keen in June and they quickly secured first-option on the 18-year-old Neftchi Baku midfielder after interest from Russian champions Rubin Kazan and clubs in Italy.

The option is valid for two years, but talks are underway about doing a deal this winter.

Agent Tassos Anagnou, who says he is representing Everton in negotiations, said: ‘I hope that our negotiations are successful and in January Araz joins Everton.

‘I first I saw him two years ago in Turkey, at one of the Azerbaijan junior team’s training camps.

‘He is extraordinary, a talented player. He owns an excellent left foot. I think that he could play in Europe.’

Abdullayev would not automatically qualify for a work permit but has a strong case before a panel after becoming his country’s youngest ever international at the age of 16.

His club confirmed new talks but spokesman Elnur Asharoglu said: ‘Everton sent us preliminary conditions, but we have our provisions.

‘According to Neftchi president Sadikh Sadikhov, new provisions were included into the contract for the sake of Araz’s interests.

‘Thus, we will meet to discuss the details of the contract and set terms. If talks end successfully, Everton’s leadership will arrive in Baku and an official agreement will be signed about Araz Abdullayev’s transfer to this team.’

Instead he will head to Merseyside later in 2011 to train at Finch Farm, but will be unable to join permanently until such time that he acquires a work permit.
This was the last off the OS - maybe he needs a higher number of games at an international level to qualify?

Apparently, we've already signed him, a good few months back, to a long term deal subject to a work permit.

That's from the official site as well, and that was back in January.
