England players had the same problem. Decent manager finally addressed the problem head on… voila… two semi finals and final…According to the BBC Football website, Benitez didn't say 'scared of the fans'.
One of the main issues that Benitez identified is that
‘some of Everton’s first-team players struggle to perform in front of the Goodison faithful and buckle under the expectations of the fanbase.’

Neither did most clubs in the league mate. Our fans are hideous, but thankfully not as bad as England fans yet.Ha ha… barely won at home last season with no fans. That was with a manager we wanted
Well said mate.Yes, yes we do, we are terrible people. Most of us think Everton are entitled to success because of the good spell they had in the 80s, have far too high expectations, and very little patience. It's only a matter of time before some start punching Police Horses in the head.
Well Everton aren’t so maybe the fans need to buck their ideas up mate. The vast majority of Evertonians just want a team that puts in the effort on a consistent basis. Show us you're busting a gut trying to win, and we'll back you. Shrivel like a frightened turtle in the face of fan expectations and you can GTFO. Every sports team in the world has fans who expect a lot. Those teams that at least try to live up to those expectations are usually successful.

This account has been stored like a fine bottle of wine. ?I don't think we are to blame, maybe we are a tad over sentimental, 'if ya know ya history et al'. We live in a media age where everything is or can be devilered on a plate, you just have to dial up and flash your card at the screen. Surely then a well run club would manage the expectation of the supporters, so I will deflect it back at the club and exonerate the supporters ?
