Are you pulled back in ?

The sheer anger and stress that last season caused me just proved how much I care about and love this club.

We have all been complaining about our defense and midfield being spineless and full of mistakes, these areas have now been largely addressed.

We need goals still and to get rid of some of the dross that got us to this point.

The future looks brighter than it did two weeks ago, that's for sure.

Last season proved just how much I care as well. I was losing sleep on a nightly basis and I’m pretty sure had we got relegated my wife was going to check me into a mental institute.

Pulled the head off it
But in the past the clubs at the top changed ... regularly ... a lot. The big money thrown at the "successful clubs" from TV, advertising, sponsorship and prize money is disproportionate to what happened in the past absolutely ensuring that the safe, established, armchair selling brands stay exactly where tv and UEFA want them.

I'm firmly convinced that Leicester was scripted as a one off attempt to fabricate belief that some romance and competition could still exist. Like wwf, football is a cash cow now, not a sport.

Anything can happen? VAR has tightened the grip on the script to ensure that its even less likely now.
I am 100% with you with regards the state of sport in general nowadays. Even ladies football is doomed now The TV companies have realised there is coin to be made. Soon they will all be diving and cheating just as much as the men. I am getting old mate and if the clubs at the top changed a lot in the past, then i don't remember it like that, possibly in the 50’s and 60’s. But from my recollection the 60’s comprised of us, The rs, ManU and Leeds, the 70’s was basically the rs, 80’s was us, the rs afterwards it was the sky 4 until very recently.
like i say I am getting very forgetful, and Iam sure there were a good few I missed, but I think top class sport from the 50’s /60’s has basically been a cabal. Only we missed the sky gravy train we would have deffo been uo there with thm discussing a super league. :(

Leicester , Chelsea , Man utd , Newcastle and a momentous night in May.
We where all pulled back in after fearing the worst and hating everything Everton.

Roll on ,Richy sold talk we are badly skint one or two loans and thats it.
Lessons not learned we all say.

5 new signings and what looks like a plan developing .

Are you pulled back in again ?

Everton I Hate / Love you.
Sign two goalscorers, get rid of a few crabs and I might be convinced were on the right course.

Last season was awful but the adversity really galvanised the club. Assuming we get a striker I'll be happy with the summer recruitment.

I think we have enough for a solid season and to lay some foundations. I'm just a bit scarred from last season and whilst fully behind Frank, I'm really keen to see some stability in team selection and some positive results.

To answer the question, "in" but with trepidation.

Pulled back in?

Ha ha, oh the naivety.

Fool me once...

If you think of the managers Frank has worked under (and presumably learned from) then it doesnt surprise me that he is trying to shore up our defence and midfield. A few have said our signings are all defensive, but that doesn't concern me as it is defensively where we have been so utterly awful last season. It didnt matter how many we scored, as soon as we conceded a corner of free kick, we conceded a goal. Then the heads either went down, or fell off leading to a beating. The new signings should stop us conceding quite so readily, should galvanise the team if we go down a goal and stop people from retreating into their shell. If we stop conceding goals, our midfielders and forwards only have to score one single goal to win three points. Some of the great footballing teams have been crafted based on that philosophy. We had to sort our defence out, we had to inject some drive and hunger into our midfield, we had to get some leaders to prevent the quilts from flagging. We have done all that, a striker will be fab, but even if we dont manage to get one, this has been a good window. By this time next year a load more of the parasites will be getting moved on and hopefully we will be starting to become a tough opponent and a team with a strategy and a style of play that gives us the prospect of silverware.

In a weird way I think last season knocked some of the complancey and cobwebs of us, probably holistically

The club seem to have learned a lesson about being over hubris, while last season was torture, man did I pump adrenaline, you don’t get that in a battle between 8th and 6th, though you wouldn’t choose sailing that close to the wind.

The Benitez shadow looms large over last season, we have a bright young manager now, who radiates passion, shows interest, is humble and down to earth, he looks like he wants to build something and that’s it for me, I want to get behind a building project, I’ll back it all good or bad once I see that and working to ward something.

to answer the question, never ever be out, we’re in this for life, but the club got the blast of bazooka it needed.
Never use this word on this forum again

Well I was never out. I bleed blue for over 50 years.
Ve
Rovers nearly went bust and were relegated for the first time in their history in 2005 after an 8 point deduction. It was awful but I never stopped loving them. Now we are on the cusp of three league championships in a row and are flying in Europe.

I believe Everton will rise again to greatness. Despite my anger at years of mismanagement I love Everton FC and my fellow dysfunctional Blues. I never thought in 95 we would have gone so long in the desert, but the Israeli test came through eventually.

I have faith. COYB!!!
