Confirmed Signing Armando Broja

….yep, his recent form is ordinary and his injury record is dreadful but it’s low risk, he certainly has something to prove so it might just be a matter of ‘right time, right place’.

We all like a new signing, so fingers crossed.

Yup atm he's at the crossroads as a player, 23 in a few days - so ageing out of that young prospect group and into WYSIWYG, doesn't kick on this year then can probably say it's very unlikely he will do.

Hope is the lad has a bit of fire inside him as he's gone from a player everyone raved about to one a lot criticise now, does he have the desire to go with the obvious ability...

Think there are obviously percentiles the lad has we need, hes also very good on the counter and ball at feet. Ive mentioned before he reminds me of Arnoutovic, his ability you cant coach being consistent and impactful you can.

I see talent there with him.

Its a low risk situation and a very good deal, we take him for a test drive and the worst thing that can happen is it doesn't work out and hes not on our list in 12 months. Its a no brainer really.

Id be fuming if i was Ipswich this morning.
The Arnoutovic comparison is a good one.

Although i half suspect we've given Chelsea dibs on Branthwaite.

Spot on mate.

They did mate, but had a few bids rejected up until yesterday.

Considering we have no obligation to buy, just seems strange to me.

If it was just wage %, well - we're not paying any until he's fit and you'd think if Ipswich were making repeated bids until late last night, and were happy to pay £30m if they stayed up recently that they'd match his wages/our offer.

Maybe player preference mate, I'm guessing over the last few years Thelwell has certainly spoken repeatedly to his agents.

Going somewhere you know have wanted you for 2-3 years could be a big pull for a player who really can't afford to waste another season of doing nothing.

I think the concept of "right time right place" is very real. I will be judging him purely on how he does for Everton.
Many originally lifted an eyebrow when we signed Super Kev Campbell. He had been outstanding as a youngster for Arsenal, but then three seasons (including a relegation) at Forest and a disasterous spell in Turkey had a lot of people doubting the wisdom of signing him at the time. (though few would admit it now)

Yeah given he was brought in about 4 months after Big Dunc had left for Newcastle leaving us on the floor as fans, it felt very underwhelming at the time.

Remember very well thinking it was not gonna be a good transfer actually

Of any club he could go to, Chelsea are sure as hell the one most likely to pay the biggest fee,, so no problem if we've given them first refusal on JB

Totally off topic, so mea maxima culpa, but I haven't heard or seen 'WYSIWYG' for years and years. It gave me a smile of nostalgia, so thanks for that, mate.
