Confirmed Signing Armando Broja

The question in January is if DCL would agree to a transfer. He would only need to wait a short while to move on a free and command a much higher signing on fee.
It’s not just about money though. If, say, United have a couple of strikers out in Jan and need someone in right away is he going to say no thanks, bell me in the summer. Because in the summer they won’t bell him.

All you can say is Dyche is probably the sort of manager he needs. Quite no nonsense, won't cut him much slack. I think he's been pandered too a bit, and it's time to probably either sink or swim for him.

I don't love the signing at all, but it's a loan with no real risk for us. I do wonder if something gets done for DCL in January, and maybe even Brainthwaite this summer.
DCL to Chelsea in Jan

Hope Chermiti gets playing time ahead of him.
Why?

Other than the obvious being that we own one and the other is only on loan.

What has Chermiti done so far to warrant any faith in him?

He may end up good, hopefully he does but he has a long way to go.

For me it's more about the profile we need, one that can fill all attacking positions and adds pace. So Fofana was rather what we needed.
Not sure about profile. As much as I would like Fofana over Broja, Fofana would never be a number 9 in a Dyche team. He doesn't have the physicality and hold-up play needed for a team that in possession only hoof the ball towards their striker.

Fofana would be competition for Doucoure and Ndiaye to play just behind the striker.

A couple of years ago I would be happy with Broja, but there are red flags everywhere after his loan to Fulham. I know Muniz did fantastic, but the place as a 9 was very much up for grabs when they brought in Broja on loan. Broja didn't get a single league start and was left out of the matchday squad some matches.

Bit of a shame that with this years signings, if we want to keep them next summer, itll be getting on for 100million out of the budget.

No loan fee, not paying wages until fit and no mandatory buy clause.

Dont tell me people are moaning about this deal

It’s more about the player himself rather than any deal structure. Injury prone and his goal/assist record.

It also raises a question as to why we are given such a generous offer, was this similar to the Ipswich deal?

Call it moaning all you like, I don’t see why it’s wrong to be not so enamoured with this signing.
