2024/25 Armando Broja

I might be over-simplifying things and obviously there's his wages to sort with Chelsea, but do we not just free a loan spot up anyway by not registering him for January onwards?

Wish him well though - if it wasn't for Harrison he would be on 2 assists already
He'd still be registered as a player at the club. Not registering him for a competition, such as the PL, would not alter this. They're two separate things.

I don't think it's outrageous for Chelsea to want to be paid up. Unless we specified a clause they are entitled to it. It was a risky deal at the time, mitigated slightly by the delay in starting payments.

We'll just need to swallow our medicine and pay up. Only other possibility is wait until deadline day and do some kind of deal with one of their other fringe players.

It’s horrendous luck again for us and him, although could have been foreseen.

Paying off his costs for the rest of the season and sending him back will remove the very last tiny hopes of a new contract for Kev. It’s a sporting gamble which could have worked. But when looking at all the facts, and Broja’s history, TFG will view him as an imbecile. Probably told them what a great deal it was not paying until he was fit too.

It’s not surprising that a player who has been injured more than he’s been fit for the last 3 years is injured again. It’s also not surprising that Everton seemingly did not foresee this and have a clause in the loan deal to end it if he picked up a serious injury.
We are the most depressingly badly run club in the league. Every time there’s a decision to be made, we inevitably make the wrong one.

Sounds like another piece of transfer magic from Thelwell. Signing a player with more injuries than goals but not considering a clause about ending the deal in the event of a long term injury. Cheers Kev.
Silly me I thought all loan deals would have such a clause. Brilliant work.

Can't pretend I fully understand the Premier League handbook, but it does state that you can't have 2 domestic loans 'registered' with the club. If that registration is the squad registration of 25 players, if Chelsea won't play ball (and who can blame them in this instance), then can we just deregister him from the squad list? We'd have to take the hit on the wages, but needs must. Failing that, I'm sure there's a deal to be had with Chelsea by loaning another one of their 8 billion players in exchange.
