I think it was primarily a move borne of desperation. If we have money to spend in the summer I don’t see how we would even consider a move like that. Also note he failed his medical at Ipswich - we are a soft touch & it has to stop .....

By all means negotiate any loan - first I have heard you can't send them back with a bad injury - we were stupid if we put a clause in to say we would keep him come what may - with his injury record ....I think it was primarily a move borne of desperation. He failed a medical for a permanent move due to an achilles issue. The terms of our loan were that we wouldn't pay his salary until that achilles injury cleared and he was fit to make a matchday squad for us.Also note he failed his medical at Ipswich - we are a soft touch & it has to stop .....
Don't be too sure about that. Moyes is a big admirer of the player.Think we had an intent to buy him at then end of the loan. I suspect we don’t now !
We get youth players returned on any injury, sorry someone messed that loan agreement up One has gone & I suspect the DOF needs to go too - plus the Harrison loan must be for a full season = another blunder...He failed a medical for a permanent move due to an achilles issue. Unfortunate that he then injured his ankle; but Chelsea have to have had some benefit from the deal, namely his salary off the books for a season. They wouldn't cover his salary and then let us send him back in the window. It would have been one or the other.
Thelwell must be held accountable for this even though the while deal was done out of desperation ..It’s not surprising that a player who has been injured more than he’s been fit for the last 3 years is injured again. It’s also not surprising that Everton seemingly did not foresee this and have a clause in the loan deal to end it if he picked up a serious injury.
We are the most depressingly badly run club in the league. Every time there’s a decision to be made, we inevitably make the wrong one.
The lower division clubs we loan our youth players to aren't paying their wages, and generally don't have as experienced or advanced physio/medical departments to rehab their injuries. Completely different situations. We get youth players returned on any injury, sorry someone messed that loan agreement up One has gone & I suspect the DOF needs to go too - plus the Harrison loan must be for a full season = another blunder...
A crock we agreed to that needs sacking eg DOF so we have to that his I juries too wordsfail me on how we were run at that time! The lower division clubs we loan our youth players to aren't paying their wages, and generally don't have as experienced or advanced physio/medical departments to rehab their injuries. As I say, the Broja deal negotiation would have been thus; we don't pay until he's fit but we can't send him back.
Exactly. It's not Chelsea's job to do us any favours taking him back and putting his wages back on their books just because it's what would be most convinient for us. We shouldn't have signed an injured player who we knew would miss half a season in the first place. Yet another cracking bit of business. The lower division clubs we loan our youth players to aren't paying their wages, and generally don't have as experienced or advanced physio/medical departments to rehab their injuries. Completely different situations.
