Bizarre that they dont want him back. He is their asset. If they never want to play him, they need to sell him for the maximum possible price in summer. A club with any brains would take him back and be in charge of his rehabilitation and recovery. Particularly with our record of in this area.

I’d imagine it’s a pretty standard clause….. parent club might be skirting PSR issues, so they’re hardly going to plan to pick up a salary ½ way through the season after they’ve they’ve loaned out the same player.
I guess we could have negotiated a loan fee up front that covers his wages and a fee but we signed him injured without having to pay wages until he recovered.
Don’t think the loan terms are the problem (if there is one) so much as signing injured players.
But let’s not forget the financial dire straits we were in last transfer window.

….as somebody who criticises him, I’m not sure I’d criticise him for that. The criticism is whether we should’ve gone for him in the first stage but Thelwell was clearly a big fan of the player.

I really think its shocking we didn't have a break clause in this loan, crazy its not like you couldn't predict him getting another long term injury he has had several in recent years. Also agree you can question the loan in the first place it was clearly desperation at the last minute, wven if they had been tracking him for years it was clear his injury record should have made us steer clear alone.

Also note he failed his medical at Ipswich - we are a soft touch & it has to stop .....
