Don't think Spurs or Conte understand that their troubles are not up front, if they put as much into the rest of their team, they might win something because they have a world class forward line. If you have genuine quality up front like they have and you still aren't winning stuff, I'd say maybe look at the rest of the team.

This could also literally just be a case of the media team trying to navigate the minefield that is the comms situation at the moment. Even if he signed ages ago there's nothing to say that they absolutely have to announce him via their socials at X time and no later. I suspect they want to distance it from the Lampard stuff as much as they can.

That said though, yeah, this is a bit of a weird situation and I really wouldn't be surprised if he did turn tail given the current situation...

Completely understandable if the player decides to reconsider seeing the mess we are in and the manager being sacked, but going to Spurs to be a back-up to Richy who is also currently a Sub player is a bit daft on the player's behalf

Daft from the player yes, but maybe not from the agent £££. Truth is we take so long doing any sort of deal, this is what could happen.. But you get the board and chairman you deserve, clap, clap, clap.

To be fair, last January we made signings before Lampard came in, leaving him with one less domestic loan and Mykolenko money down (never mind Digne gone because he fell out with the manager who got sacked a week later)

Maybe we should let the new manager have a say in targets, especially if its true Gordon is on his way out the door for money

But wasn't that when he thought Lampard was the manager? The idea of Lampard speaking to a player on Friday night before what was always pretty likely to be his last game is the problem here, not necessarily failing to get a player to sign up while in between managers. We could then have 4 useless wingers on the bench if he doesn't fancy him...
