Somebody needs to remind Roberto that we are a long term Lukaku injury away from this bloke being our number 1 and only striker...When I saw this thread brought up again, it raised my hopes that someone might be interested in buying kone. My hopes were dashed when reading the thread. It seems only Martinez sees something in the lad and he's bought him TWICE. One of the worst value for money buys in our recent history.
Just imagine for a second that he was named as a striker in your sat/sunday team. Be honest, you wouldn't be impressed would you? I wonder what his fellow pro's think when he is named on the team sheet. Seriously I would rather have Marcus Bent or silky Steve Watson running the line than this fella.
Massive flop, buy him a one way ticket to his favourite holiday destination.
Too right, if a premier league striker and international turned up for my Sunday League side, I'd be furious.
point is, if we had to rely on this guy to get us goals to win games then we are in big trouble. For me, he is in the same bracket as the likes of shola ameobi, carlton cole, marlon harewood etc etc.
Premier league Goal record, alright kone isn't quite at 1 in 5 yet (not got the goals to minutes ratio), but i predict it soon will be and it will get worse. Age, wrong side of 30 and past his best, I'm hoping it will be a case of letting his contract run down and let him go. By which time we should have a vision for succession.what's the main similarity you see between Kone and those 3 players?
Even then he wouldn't get the start, surely. I'd put Naismith or Mirallas up front before sicknote Kone - both have shown they can score goals, which Kone demonstrably can no longer do.Somebody needs to remind Roberto that we are a long term Lukaku injury away from this bloke being our number 1 and only striker...
