I thought he was rubbish at Wigan.
And I rate all those players you mentioned more than Kone.
Hes not even close to Bily, who actually scored some cracking goals in his time here.
He's been a much worse signing than Billy so far, Billy scored 9 from 77 appearances on the wing, Kone has 1 in 22, we got 2/3's of our money back on Billy as well, we won't get much if anything for Kone.
Not really. We lost 4 million on bily in the market. It was also a much tougher time in terms of the money available to us. Losing £4 million on Bily (plus wages) was a much bigger chunk of our budget down the drain, AT THE TIME.
The money we got for him bought Jelavic, who had half a season of being awesome before becoming a bit pants, we sold him for £6.5 though and got another mil when Hull stayed up, so it worked out ok, Kone will most likely leave next summer on a Bosman, unless he slots 10 next season it will have been a worse signing imo.
Fair enough on the first two points. I've noticed that anybody who isn't already regarded as crap, is crap in your opinion. Anybody rated half -decent in your opinion. is normally called crap.
In fact, apart from Besic, Arteta, and Moutinho. Every player in world football is either world class, or total garbage.
Gareth Farelly scored a cracking goal once mate![]()
errr, the money we paid for him was Millions above what we paid for Jelavic.
Keep talking balls to suit your argument if you want though.
We took a 4 million hit on Bily, and it was a much bigger percentage of our budget than the Kone loss will be.
Feel free to carry on talking balls though mate.
Thats not true Friend, some players are Superb - John Stones, Boss - Besic, Decent - Oviedo, Alright - Hibbert, Tosh - McGeady or Utterly rank - Kone.
You kinda missed my point I think, we did as you say loose £4m on Billy but we got £5 mil of our £9mil invested back and spent it on Jelavic (£5mil) , we then sold Jelavic for £7.5m so we reduced our effective loss to £1.5 m, our loss on Kone will be £6mil, so financialy a worse signing.
What we spent the money on that we got back for Bily is irrelevant. He was still a bigger financial loss in percentage than Kone will be.
We got more than 50 % of our money back on Billy, I don't think we will get half our money back on Kone.
You have this mad idea that because we sold Bily for a loss, but sold Jelavic for a profit from the Bily money, that it somehow was a good financial deal for us.
It's not really mad mate, it just showed we covered our loss.
Here's a thought. We could have not bought Bily and bought Jelavic for a fraction of the price. IN THE FIRST PLACE.
I don't get this.
It was excellent business, if you say so![]()
Don't think we'll get half our money back on Kone, but it will only equal a £2 million loss (should we get feck all for him) more than we are taking on Bily. Given the rapid inflation that footy is going through, then it's quite easy to work out how Bily was a bigger financial flop. Feel free to wake up mate![]()
Inflation is irelevant in relation to the players percentage price drop, we will loose more on Kone than we did Billy if he leaves for free, £2m more as you say so a worse deal financially, probably not the worst though, we lost a lot on Yak and we didn't do to well on the Billic signing/sale.
I do agree though I am struggling to stay awake2:15 here.
Bily was a much worse signing mate. He is in our top 5 transfer fees, ffs. Kone was never even meant to be first choice.
