Arouna Kone

It seems unlikely that we'd refuse to chip in to his wages. Wasting £10,000 a week is better than wasting £40,000 a week, surely?
Depends on how the club view it mate. Firstly, nobody likes to get rolled over by the club you're negotiating with and sometimes decisions are made on principle. Secondly, we have sold or loaned out a lot of attacking players this window leaving the squad quite threadbare in that area. Perhaps the club decided if they were paying part of his wages they may as well pay all of them and have him available for selection. Thirdly, we don't know how much of his salary Palace were prepared to pay. It may not have been as much as £30k.

I wonder if money was the issue.

It was obviously a last minute thought with Crystal Palace. Bring in another striker who could act as cover in case of injuries.

Why would Arouna Kone have all the hassle of moving from one club where he never plays to another club where he never plays.

He hasn't got all the other deadwood players to keep him company now, perhaps he may up his game now. If we were hit buy loads of injuries he can do a job, also he's only got a little to go on his contract I'm looking at it as we have got an extra squad player.

So he's still here then. To say that is disappointing is an understatement. Obviously this guy has absolutely no professional pride whatsoever and is just a leech. Even the much maligned Niasse is giving it a go elsewhere
