I'd consider preparing for jail life by getting into crack right now. I'm an expert at surviving in foreign jails as I've watched quite a lot of Banged up Abroad. A lot of the criminals say time goes by a lot quicker when cracked up to the eyeballs.
What is the likely outcome- any indication yet? Is it a fine and getting kicked out of the country? How long would you spend in jail if it all went Everton?
My gut feel is that they will drag their feet waiting for you to hightail it out of the country to never be seen again... they even gave you your passport for a long period of time. No need to worry about a problematic foreigner who is innocent and arguing against their legal system with unknown exposure to their target tourists' media and the reputational impact it might have. No western country would send you back on the evidence presented, and it certainly would be more expensive to pursue than its worth to the Thai authorities. I'd have made the break for it and considered the grand a fair price for getting out of a rotten situation.
Hello mate how are you doing today.Police report hopefully comes in next week and then I'll have more of an idea of what will happen.
Obviously I'm hoping for fine and deportation, I just want to go home now.
Not that I don't love Thailand but having something like this hanging over me is putting me close to meltdown.
Even with passport I wouldn't be able to get on a flight because I'm in the system so would be arrested at airport. Making a break for it is not an option or something I would consider.
My lawyer has compiled mitigating evidence of my clean record, charity work, working as health professional for years and I have submitted my dad's health records as he had a stroke and I input into his care.
Hopefully they take a first offence into account with these factors and i can come home.

Only what I’ve read the lad himself has said, and I’ve no reason to disbelieve him. You see a tad uptight about itWhy great publicity? Do you know the facts?
