Oh right ha. Phew.

Well I haven't smoked it for years but it's available.

People try to sell you stuff all the time, usually taxi guys but a lot of them are either marked or stooges for the police so I wouldn't advise taking the risk.

There are bars I know where they sell openly over the counter and these are ignored by and large by police, whether they are ran by mafia or just pay police subs I don't know.

But I've seen police sitting in a car waiting to nick people on the way out so again, full of risk.

Unless they know someone trustworthy I'd tell them to swerve it personally. Just go cocktails and take a bar girl home to reignite their marriage instead.

Alright then,next question.

How much was bail? They're deffo going to get nicked. Resigning myself to it now.

Hey Diogenes. Been following the thread and hope you’re ok. I’m on Samui as well. Due to leave tomorrow and been chilling thru the storm. Seems quiet now tho. All be brighter tomorrow. Look after yourself.

Hi mate,

Thanks for your post, sorry I just saw it.

Yeah it's quieted down a bit and electric is back up so we'll see what the dawn brings!

Safe trip back :)

I think this is real...
My parents having a love of the green is very real. As is the risk of them getting locked up for smoking it wherever they please.

My ma actually said to me before she left " ah it's alright they don't go after tourists"

I don't think they know what they're possibly getting into.

They almost got done for it in Colombia years back and were very, very lucky that the Colombian plod let them go.

Probably because it looked like they'd spent the bribe money on spliff already.

You have to be very careful there.. I tended to find a connected westerner rather than go directly to thais.. All tho I ended up with some very good Thai friends in the end.

Taxi drivers are a big no no...

Only just got back to the Middle East mate - was supposed to fly out on Saturday but so was everyone else. And everyone from Friday. And that airport is designed for about 400 not 6000. BKK wasn't much better either mind. Cracking storm tho - reminded me of a summers day on Anglesey.

Haha yeah it's a cosy airport at the best of times, glad you got back ok.

Storm wasn't bad at all, couple hairy hours with no electricity put me in suspense but we saw worse weather in December in the end, at least in Samui.

Ocean still choppy though and visibility zero in the water, all the silt and debris make it impossible to swim yet. I went out about twenty foot and got hit with a branch in the knee so swerved it and just played in the waves.

I need to swim every day because it clears my head, I get anxious otherwise so fingers crossed it will be better tomorrow.
