You cannot tackle from behind now, so it was a foul. I agree about it now being virtually a non contact sport now though. Stupid uefa have ruined the game.

Don't think he tackled from behind. It's only a tackle from behind if he takes the player first, which he didn't. He was alongside the player and he won the ball. That's it.

Speaking of physical football how come unlike another Red and white team Stoke can play that way without breaking 1/2 the opposing teams starting 11.

Staright into an ambulance for the young lad. Shawcross was in flood of tears going off. No replays of it but its looks a nasty one.

Not nice it seems.

Puts things into perspective. I broke my leg when I was 16, never really played since I fell into a bad place, so I know the pain he may be going through.

Hope it wasn't as bad as David Bust's.

Who was crying? Shawcross?

Aye.

BBC -

Stoke red card: No, no, no. Even Ryan Shawcross looks traumatised by this - as are a lot of other players. Aaron Ramsey has suffered a horrific injury after a tackle by the Stoke defender. They aren't replaying the incident. I'm not surprised. Ramsey was holding his injured leg up in the aftermath and it was not at the right angle in any way. Horrible.

Oxygen mask, knee injury fracture maybe. You know its a shocker when there's no replays.

Sorensen was talking with an Arsenal player and he dropped his hand in a limped fashion to probably demonstrate the severity of the break.

I rewound it. Didn't look malicious but it was dangerous. Ramsay's leg was literally flopping around, looks like he's snapped his shin/knee. Only positive is it hasn't broken through the skin so no immediate risk of infection. Shawcross is devastated. I went to school with him, he's the year below me and he's not a nasty guy
