What gets me is that Moyes is saying that we need to find new ways to play. What he actually means is that he will shift players around in exactly the same system for a game or two and then go back to exactly what he's always done.

Saha and Cahill need quality deliveries into the box, as they're never going to outrun anyone. However Baines is too nervous to get forward because the player infront of him won't cover his position. So there's no supply line to the forwards. How do we change the situation? We could try Neville at left back and push Baines into midfield, so that he could get forward at will.

We don't have enough creativity from other areas. How could we change that? Moyes has had problems with Drenthe, Bily and Barkley over defensive responsibilities. Why not play one of them in the free role behind the striker and drop Cahill further back, where he will fulfil his duties? He'd then still be on the pitch to hopefully score from set pieces.

Coleman isn't so effective from midfield because he doesn't have the same space to run into. If we tuck Cahill into that side then he'd offer enough experience and protection to allow Seamus to overlap him.

It's all pretty logical and obvious stuff. It frustrates me that Moyes just tinkers with his lineup, not solving existing problems and creating even more.

Not quite what I meant. That's my fault for having a fume.

I basically mean there will be a season where our mid season turn around doesn't happen.

Our second half comebacks have been getting progressively less inspiring year on year tbf. Because our players keep leaving one by one, every transfer window and we can't replace them.

there r a hell of a lot on here who like r manager have not got a clue about football, not 1 shot on target in the last 2 games . this is the worst football ever played by the club .my only saving grace is i never went down there today.

Well said mate - i can't see any light at the end of the tunnel at the moment.

Signalled the start of our best period of the game.

Because we packed the midfield....Fellaini is better in the Cahill role than Cahill as he actually holds the ball up, turns, and has vision to play the ball - gets up and down from midfield to the front man. Heitinga and/or Neville sat..something Neville and Felli werent doing.

All this for about a 5 minute spell that produced 1 shot from Phil Neville. It also disguised the disruption of the back 4, and the non threat of Tim Cahill leading the line.

Oh and then they scored.

Clueless IMO.

I think the good thing is that Jags - Heitinga CB pairing looks solid and we can build on that. I hope Distin getting in to shape doesnt change that. Distin does nice things but I'm starting to think that he's the one getting himself in to those situations in the first place. Hibbo is decent, Baines is Class, the rest of the kind folk here at the moment are pretty much squad players except for R.R. Cool-D and the promising kids. FFS.
