...again. So many of you forgetting the quality of the opposition.

Or wait, are we the only team they've sliced and diced before?

Answers on a postcard.

I don't think we played bad, in fact we we arguably the better team as soon as Saha came off. I just get frustrated when we don't pressure the back lines of the likes Arsenal and Man Utd. If you want to sit back against the City and man mark them, fine, as their back line rarely makes a mistake. However teams who defenses are an accident waiting to happen (especially Arsenals) you have to pressure them at their weakest point. The best attacking sides will always inevitably break down 10 men back.

No, we're not. What we're looking at is the manor of the defeat.

It was gutless and clueless. What was the game plan? Play the offside rule. Thats it.

We looked like a poor championship side against a premier league side in the FA Cup.

Cahill hasnt scored since December 2010. Plays the full 90 having been ineffective yet again.
Vellios is a "great impact sub not ready to start a game", he puts on McAleny who has had about 5minutes of senior football.
Barkley isnt ready to play or start...yet by the managers own admission needs games having come back from injury.
Gueye - his secret weapon...on for one of the better players today in Bilya rather than Coleman, stuck on a yellow, and being bossed by Vermaelen.

And with the game poised at 0-0...he puts Distin on for Saha. Not to defend a lead. Not to replace an injury. But to defend against conceding. 5minutes later Van Persie scores.

Moyes panics and rather than playing a few experienced players he has on the bench compared to others...refuses to, and loses the plot by not only keeping ineffective players on but replaces them with 2 players who have had little game time.

Baffling.

I would've must prefered us playing young players and have a go, let them express themselves and not be scared to play football and lose 4-0 than what we did today.

I'm just not as bent out of shape about the result or the manner in which it was achieved.

I thought we'd lose 3-0 or worse.

We lost 1-0 from a moment of class.

So be it.

I'll deny it.

Remember. Moyes was a huge problem from January to May of this past season as well.

You've proven that when our players start to actually bag some goals, it get's moyes out the line of sight.

It's the same tactics every year and there's no reason that it should take until January for us to start winning and getting results.

Even if we had scored today at the end, i'd still be complaining because Moyes is still clueless, it just means that someone had saved his ass. Every season it's the same, we can't break down little teams because were bad at attacking with Moyes tactis, and this season we can't give the big boys a game

Asrenal defenders will ask for extra training tomorrow so they can feel like theyve had a game

Bily? Saha? Neville?

Good enough? Please don't make me laugh.

Saha is better than most of the strikers that the teams we should be beating (like Stoke) have. Pointing out that we have some weaker players does not prove your point.

We have Neville, but who chooses to play him ? Moyes.
We have Saha who clearly isn't comfortable up front on his own. Who chooses to play him there ? Moyes
Bily played okay today, much better than Coleman. Who is responsible for taking the wrong player off ? Moyes
Who decided that having 7 defenders on the pitch was a good idea ? You guessed it.
Who leaves young players who are chomping at the bit on the bench until there are a few minutes left ? Moyes

See a pattern here ?

'Like taking a balloon to a sausage fight' - Moyes after today's game.

So what I'm getting from you is that it couldn't possibly be the players at our disposal then?

Right?

True. But this match was going to be that way I felt.

My issue us that Norwich should be coming ot Goodison basically shi*ting themselves, however they will be coming and fancy a win. Hell, i fancy them to get one!
Hope they don't but it's just how it feels.
