Need to definitely get someone closer to Lukaku because I think he's got a goal in him. His hold up player has been excellent again today and I think he's got the beating of their back line.

the thing is howard can use his hands from crosses, which immediately gives him and extra yard or two to the ball from crosses. he doesn't even get touched from the goals. he's not brave whatsoever, he jumps and makes sure his body avoids the contact so it's just a couple of dangly arms against a striker.

He needs to spend some time training with the rugby union full backs on coming to meet a ball under pressure. Different I know, but they don't take their eyes of take the ball regardless of the physical presence around them.

this is exactly it. He's a 'kin disgrace. Why is the question never asked of him ... "Timothy, why are you incapable of clearing crosses into the box ?". His kicking has been shiat too. Martinez needs to hook him.

Del needs to grow a pair too and give it more effort, stop fannying about and get it into the box .. anything directed towards goal in this weather on that pitch has a chance.

Galloway is playing well, loving this lad more and more.

McCarthy is anonymous unless he's totally occupied shackling Carzola who has also been anonymous. Anyway I'd have him off and put Cleverly on.

Exactly mate so he might as well set us up to have a go surely? Sitting back where our keeper is an embarrassment and everyone knows this but Martinez. This is why I'm so impartial to him as a manager. For one good thing he does I see 3 major flaws each time in how we are set up tactically.

sitting back against giroud leading the line was strange straight off as in the p[ast he has always caused problems when we sat deep against them, oh well if howard has nothing to do in the air we can get a result still, big if though as any corner loks like they will score, think every one theye got to first...

No he's not been in the game enough, he needs to run towards the ball instead of always expecting it to fall in his lap. He also never closes players down, win headers or make tackles. If it's not at his feet he doesn't care. Defence starts up front

This only works if the midfield is joining the striker in this iroud can do it 'cause he knows the rest of the team is right behind him. What's the point of Lukaku running at the defenders when his next teammate is too far away.
He is really all alone up there so he should save his strength for when it matters or is useful. I think his hold up play today is really good and if the midfield would just be a little bit closer to him, we can win this game.
he must be jealous of Giroud when he sees players like Sanchez and Chamberlain racing up front and have someone like Ozul to distribute passes.
