We were tumbling down to the bottom though, just look at the results prior to that. If anything he steadied the ship. If Benitez were still here we’d be relegated.
This the idea we just stayed still is bizarre we were plummetting into oblivion, yes there were ups and downs including a gut wrenching defeat to Burnley and being five points adrift in the bottom three but Frank galvanised the club and changed the system to keep us up.

I'm not getting on the managers back yet. But he's hardly done anything. He basically got all the players back from injury, made 3 signings and kept us in the position we were already in when he took over.

We look crap against Arsenal here who also are playing for nothing as spurs were already 2 nil up at the time we conceded first and they knew that. I'm struggling to see how lampard turns this around next season because it's the worst Everton side I've seen for years and he's going to want to play us in a less effective style for sure
Kane scored in the 32nd minute. Arsenal in the 27th. - Maybe Mystic Meg sent them a message

I don't want to get into this now but I don't think it was going the way you were suggesting at all and if it was then it wasn't down to the ability of the previous manager but just because of the negativity towards him.
So the fans fault?

You don't think 1 win in 14 was taking us down the table? That was the managers ability. Literally the worst form in the league.

Nothing to do with players not putting a shift in then? Nothing to do with removing our creativity in James and Digne?

But this is exactly what you're arguing against - that we've won games but haven't been prime Barca.
What I'm saying is that when you play poorly and win you shouldn't go out to play the same way again. Take the points and improve.

We get lucky and win against Chelsea in a game we were only ok in and we've tried to do the same thing for six straight matches and been largely poor the whole way through.

It's nuts.

But we also played really well on the way there.

Do you think they win the cup getting battered every week? That's the problem right now.

Yeah occasionally it works anyway because football is dumb.

Do you think this is the 16th best squad in the league?

Wigan outplayed us on the way.

Is it really that hard to grasp that sometimes you can play poorly and win?

Start a season in review thread and this there
