Phil Neville is way more qualified than Arteta, more experience, many more medals and trophies won, more professional, more experienced! England manager to boot. Didn’t disrespect the club like Arteta did. Why no shouts for Neville?

That seems to be genuinely how he treated anyone who wasn't on the side he was playing for, Arteta was a snide when he played for us and he carried on being that way when he went to Arsenal because that's just the type of player he was. I don't think he really cared about showing respect while on the pitch as long as he won games, he no doubt enjoyed his time at Everton but like most players they don't hold huge affection for the clubs they played for it's just a job they happened to be doing for a few years of their life.

Arteta has the same level of senior management experience as Stevie G. Can't remember many on here saying what a great appointment he was for the Rangers job. The step up from assistant to manager is huge. Colin Harvey had a great reputation as a coach/assistant, but struggled when he was given the number one job post-Kendall. I'd rather have someone with first hand experience than a novice.
