Neither excite me and therefore, in the absence of 'other' option, I can't commit to voting. Therefore I can't see current general standings.

So... Who's leading?

Prefer Arteta to Silva. But to be honest I had hoped we'd get Emery not Perplexed Ronny and we really should be looking at the Hoffenheim manager not Silva. But, you know, Everton that.. never sign a manager with serious background of winning trophies - or serious overachievement at the highest level - and for every once in a while we get a Kendall or a Catterick most of the time we get Walker, Smith, Moyes, Martinez (one FA Cup), Koeman (nothing barring the obvious with big clubs in small pools), Allardyce, Bingham, Lee, Buchan (bless us!), Britton, and so on.. we are serial failures because we just refuse to get winners in as managers.

The board were responsible for not getting Clough or Robson. They want a manager who sucks up to the board. No big personalities for us - they go to the RS or United.

why on earth, if they "want a manager who sucks up to the board" would they appoint Silva? He's just very openly defied his previous Board ffs.

I want whoever Brands wants because if we have invested in a DoF, then we have to invest 100%. No point getting in a manager we want and the DoF doesnt, that way lies anarchy and ultimately failure. We have Brands now, we have to put our trust in him and see what he comes up with.

Imagine some the calls on here if we decided to take on Bobby Robsons interpreter about 20 years ago!
Young managers have to start somewhere. With the likes of Hughes, Pulis, Fat Sham, Pardew etc continually getting Prem jobs, it’s stalled the new generation coming through. Eddie Howe and Dyche are probably the only ones that have had a chance and have done relatively well. They deserve a shot at a big club. Thing is, none of the top 6 would take that gamble. Outside of them 6, we’re the biggest club and you would think that would be the next step for these upcoming managers. However, they’re not cool, they’re not foreign and they look wrong in a suit!. A gamble has to be taken somewhere to shake us out if this rut. The new generation have to start somewhere and Arteta is highly rated, by all accounts, by some of the top people in the game. Arteta could be the next big thing or he could end up being a pundit, I’d be willing to take that gamble. After all, Silva is a gamble too. 10 years down the line I reckon Arteta will have achieved more in management than Silva. And you can quote me on that!!!!!!

Ideally, we’d all like a ‘proven’ Manager, but realistically, the Calibre of Manager we all want isn’t gonna happen with all the big jobs that are gonna be available in the coming weeks. We have to gamble on the next big thing. Silva is a decent Manager but I reckon he’s destined to be added to that list above that continually gets sacked and then gets another job. Always on the outside. I’m fully on board the Arteta train.

But were not, were thinking of SIlva, I agree on thinking bigger but it looks more and more like none of the big names will be coming as one by one there all going to other clubs.
Which big names are going to bigger clubs? Emery yes but Pelligrine is too old for a project such as ours. Every new post is a gamble. Brands knows his stuff so whoever he chooses is good enough for me.

Well said Bluebonic

The idea of a poll is for you to vote what you believe, not what the majority want. You sound a bit like the schizophrenic reading in
the Echo that there is a meeting on Wednesday evening at 7.00pm in the Garston Buffs club. And him saying out-loud, I've half a
mind to go to that!

I'm dreading one of these Latins coming to us, I'm sick of them playing for time in interviews saying errrr as much as Shankly,
or saying arse instead of us.

All true but you assume we haven't tried? And you assume a winner would want the job and work under a DOF?
