Failing his way to the top. Must be a Spanish thing.

Dono how he got the arsenal job but a league 1 or 2 side taking a punt on him would be a gamble. And he should be extremely greatful to whoever wanted to take a punt on someone who isn't a manager. He wasn't a manager before then.

This has to be the media. You start linking a none manager with prem clubs enough it becomes normal. Even heard shouts that Everton would not be a big enough step for him before we got Carlo.

Mad world.

Barcelona, Madrid, Southampton, Newcastle....

His future is golden.

Don’t get this?
No smoke without fire, but why would he even comment on this? Just strange.

Why wouldn’t you just say “No, I want to manage Arsenal for a long time?”, maybe I’m overreacting, but just seems disrespectful?

Think ur seeing with the likes of arteta and lampard that you can’t just give a rookie a shot at a top side - can only think of it working with guardiola in modern times and he was blessed with the greatest player of all time coming through the ranks

Guardiola is a good example, because of course one of the first things he did was bin off all the people who were taking the piss. By the start of his second season that side had been almost totally purged.

Thing is in a pandemic how do you get rid of these overpaid wasters - you’re stuck with them

Arteta has tried that approach eg getting rid of guendozy who was a good young player

I think you've got to back yourself as a manger to do it - its obvious what the problem is there, he needs to either back himself to point it out or quit and watch them be arsed for the last few games of a season again.

So would anyone still take him for the Don Carlo now? Arteta was a great player, and a great number 2 to Guardiola at city. But being the actual man in charge, is a totally different kettle of fish. We dodged a bullet here no doubt.
