Arteta

It’s bizarre that they gave such little time to a proven European quality manager yet seemingly there’s no uproar to get rid of Arteta just because he used to play for them and is mates with Pep!

I think all managers should really be given 3 or more years before they’re judged and who knows maybe Arteta will come good but to give Emery one full season and then sack him in November the following year is nuts!

Yeah that's the bizzare thing for me. Got them to a Europa League final in the first season too. Arteta got his team over the line in the FA Cup final which bought him some time, but he's clearly out of his depth.

Worth a watch:

I'd like to laugh but I've felt like this for decades. It's just funny that they've won the FA cup and got to a European semi. We'd be in heaven with these kind of poor seasons.

It's the dilemma they have isn't it? Wenger wasn't challenging for the title so had to go even though he was still winning trophies.

Still aren't anywhere near the title, but still in the hat/winning trophies...so not good enough.

But they are falling rapidly from grace

How on earth do you only need one (1) goal to reach a European final and end up putting two (2) shots on target. Horrible.
Overplaying. 19 goals in 17 home league games I believe.

Only caught the last half hour (apparently the first half was much worse) and it was littered with pointless passing. Every time they got the ball in the box (which was rare) they looked dangerous.

He’s trying to implement an ultra passing style of play but doesn’t have the players yet to execute it properly. He’s not playing to the strengths/limitations of the players he has at his disposal. Taking off Aubameyang was also strange as he’s their most potent threat even if not fully fit. That result was totally on Arteta.

The main bloke on this channel, Robbie, seems like a decent fella. Everyone else he hangs about with - especially this man child - are complete berks.

Lee Judges is the only other normal person on there

It's like he's Bob Hoskin's in Toon Town
It makes you wonder why they tolerate it.

While he’s stood there nodding in the face of this tantrum, all that’s going through his head will be “Think of the ad revenue. Think of the ad revenue. Think of the ad revenue.”

Christ almighty, should have been an EVerton fan in the 90's or when Kenwright was selling us the Kirkby dream, and we were just about to afford loans of players like Stracqualursi and Antony Gardner.

I was in agreement for about 2 minutes, and then it's just making a fuss cause he's on a video. The owners didn't back them supposedly, yet despite a pandemic, they still spent £100m, the only outgoing is £20m for a goalkeeper (who's arguably the better one they had on their books).

Before that the season before £135m, £75m the season before, £120m the season before that.... It's just a myth. They're so entitled, it's a joke. The reality is, they've not recruited well for seasons now, they just don't do it. They're like a bigger version of us, buy players in their prime, with no resale value or drastically overpay.

Partey £45m
Torreira £27m on loan, won't get a return
Sokratis £14m and they released him before the end of his contract
Aubameyang - been fantastic but now on a £375k a week contact, which will take him up to 34 years old., so wages alone are £58m.
Lacazette £47m
Saliba £27m - couldn't get in the team, and refused to return from a loan
Pepe £72m

That's just shy of £300m, and not one of those players improves Arsenal except Aubameyang.

Ozil is another, panicked and paid out £64m in wages to him, and he downed tools. Theres' a way to do it, and it really isn't the Arsenal way.

Don’t like him, never really took to him as a player for us either.
I always felt he thought he was too good for us.
Bit harsh, always put in a hundred percent and part of one of our best midfields since the 80s Bet you liked him when he slammed in that Derby goal.

One of the few signings you can say was a really good one was Tierney

Even half-fit he was one of their best players last night

He's a saleable asset who will probably end up moving to one of the clubs above them in due course

He is soi over-rated by out fans.

He was good, very good at times, but he was injured alot, suspended often and seemed to miss many of our big games.

Cahill & Carsley, Jags, Bent, Baines, Lescott, Pienarr all did much more for us.

I just think it's really bizarre, it's not like its a big secret, as Leicester are amongst a host of sides who do it in Europe. Buy Young, Build around them, or sell them on for a Profit. If you sign a player in their prime... they're already in it.

If you sign Willian, David Luiz, players who are past the prime, you'll get exactly that, but on high wages.
If you sign players like Dani Ceballos, who aren't good enough for Real Madrid, you're not going to compete with Real Madrid are you?

Tierney is a great player, and should be at a top level for a fair few years yet.
