Ashamed of the club

Player Valuation: £150m
From June 1st to September 1st they've had time to devise a strategy to get quality players into the club. All we have to show for it, with 5 days to go in the transfer window, are the sale and release of existing squad members, the signing on a free of an old pro for a year long loan and the promise of more loan deals scraped form the bottom of the barrel.

Forget the blame game of 'is it Moyes or the board?' for a minute. I think we can all agree that this situation is outrageous for any top flight club, nevermind one finishing top 5 last season.

correct, however there is naff all that can be done about it, it really is time to simply watch the space and support the side on matchdays

And? We all know things havent gone well. We've all been saying things havent gone well. It isnt the way top 4 clubs do business but you have to remember WE ARE POOR IN COMPARISON. We cant afford to pay millions and millions like other clubs. Nothing is gonna change that without a serious backer with money to burn or a massive change in the way players are valued (unlikely).

As for ashamed of the club? Well thats your decision personally i'm ok with everything. We are not rich so we have had a rough time gettin players in, its bloody hard when u look at spurs etc throwing money around like its nothing. I mean ffs i can hardly blame sporting for looking at the prem and saying "well fulham paid £10mil for AJ, and you wanna give us £16mil for moutinhio? On you go!"

Baseline on this is we dont know what we are doing in the highend transfer market and we havent got the cash to experiment. We had a go hopefully we have learnt from it now we're in the situation were in and hopefully we're gonna patch up this season and next season enter the market with a bit more wit about us, and if these free transfers keep coming in hopefully enough money to make a dent.

I'm sorry if i seem like an over eagar optimist but I just wanna enjoy supporting everton and [Poor language removed] it things havent gone great (look at the past 10 years!) but there are positives and im gonna focus on them and look forward to the season. And hey if we ever reach the heights where we're winning trophies again at least we can say we didnt buy it, we earnt it!

I've got a feeling that Spurs are heading into being the new Newcastle. Throwing shed loads of cash and fat contracts at decent but not top players gets you zilch (I hope).

Judge on Monday. Also, judge on how these new players fair. You never know, they could be another top quality Moyes buy/loan. Then again they may not be.

I appreciate people are frustrated, but get the facts straight at least. Jacobsen is an established international and we have him on a permanent deal, not a loan.

Castillo and Victor from the bottom of the barrel? I don't think any of us have seen enough of the former to have an opinion, whilst Victor is considered to be one of the best prospects in Serie A.

Surely we should trust Moyes judgement?

I would rather have spent what we have so far than blown twenty million on the ridiculously average Keane, who was only made to look decent through playing with a genius such as Berbatov.

Relative to some clubs we may be 'poor'. But that hasn't stopped a better performance in the transfer market in recent seasons compared to this one. Whyhas this summer thus far been a washout? We get no explanations, just a whispering campaign against the manager that there is significant money there that isn't being spent. Which begs the question: if he was prepared to spend it in previous years and break transfer records, why isn't he doing it this summer if it's there?

It stinks. We've been taken for mugs and now we're supposed to be getting excited at the arrival of loan deals for players other Premiership clubs reject or wouldn't touch with a shitty stick.

Again I say it - I'm ashamed of this club.

Seen them play by any chance? Doubt it.

Carsley was a bottom of the barrel signing as where the likes of Pienaar and Arteta when we got them. Some may suprise you.

Obinna is highly thought of in Italy, he's better than Vic and will bring something to the table. Who knows on Castillo, we'll have to wait and see.

I accept that Jacobsen description was a mistake. He is our player. But he's still a veteran pro with a history of injuries. That's why he was free.

Castillo - Blackburn ran the rule over him and didn't think he was worth what Red Star were asking. Fair enough, he could be ok...if he signs. But we just let go of a defensive midfielder who could have done that job given a two year contract. There's simply no ambiton and/or money to go out and get proven players that can push us on. This is what Moyes was meaning when he said he'd have to move away from his primary targets. In that sense all this is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

We'll have to wait and judge if they are IMO. Obinna was bought by Inter (by the Special one himself), chased by Roma, but we bagged him from them.

Castilo is rated at £6mill, plays for his country, impressed on trial at Blackburn in pre-season but werent willing to pay the money being they're skint.

Potencial is there -- just like Arteta was a no-one, Pienaar, Cahill -- all nobody's.

I have faith well buy someone big. If not, lets see what we can do.

Your wrong about Carsley, he was going regardless of the length of the contract. He went purely for family reasons
