Any player that improves the team is a no brainer with regards cost.
I bet you think McGeady was a decent purchase, we paid around 1m for him and are currently paying him around 3.3m a season, by the time he leaves he will have cost the club around 10-15m and his benefit on the pitch has been the grand sum of ZERO.
Yet here you are squabbling over a few million on a quality player that will improve us as a team.

I agree 10 million was top money for Williams, if our new DOF can not go out and get a younger prospect from even the Championship or in the lower leagues abroad paying 12-20 million with a potential sell on fee.
That's what we paid Walsh to do as he did at Leicester, I would be happier, Williams at 10 million was a gamble, but a good one now he's not for sale let's move on!
