I agree 10 million was top money for Williams, if our new DOF can not go out and get a younger prospect from even the Championship or in the lower leagues abroad paying 12-20 million with a potential sell on fee.
That's what we paid Walsh to do as he did at Leicester, I would be happier, Williams at 10 million was a gamble, but a good one now he's not for sale let's move on!

Improving us to the effect of another four or five places up the league will generate in itself approx. £4m.

Absolute no brainer. Its whom RK wants. Get him at any cost.

if you're right and it is simply a case of the full amount up front i hope we just give it to them. The time to play hardball was a month ago. We can't waste time haggling over bonus payments etc on such a small amount (in modern football terms).

Williams is proven in the premier league. He would definitely improve us. But most of all he would bring much needed leadership in an area that we are desperately lacking in. It is a no brainer for me, we have the finances now, we need to get him. Then please can we get a no.1 goalkeeper in ASAP.
