yep we are short of a few mouths willing to give someone a rollicking on the pitch and lead by example. I've always thought he was decent and being 31 or 32 doesn't bother me because in 2 years time I think Galloway and Holgate will be well ready to step up. I've been very impressed with Holgate from the little I've seen pre season.

even without the armband I think he would certainly lead like a captain. He looks like the type of character who doesn't like to lose and I've said it time and time again our squad are far too weak both mentally and physically.

yes mate, 15m doesn't faze me for a player who we would get 3 quality seasons from. Everyone thought paying 5m for Distin was a lot at the time and he was a brilliant buy and I could see Williams being a similar type of buy.

There's no guarantee that he'd be quality for 3 years. Worked with Distin, doesn't mean it's going to work again.

It's a lot of money to spunk on an aging player. I remain unconvinced.

of course mate, no guarantee 100% but I think if he kept up the level he's been consistently at for Swansea and brought that level here, we would all be saying it's a shrewd signing.

totally understand reservation due to age Dan but I honestly think he's exactly what we need at the back at this moment in time. I think a fit Jags and him would be as solid as a rock with Mori hopefully getting more time to improve on certain aspects of his game.

no doubt TL 15m can get you a decent centre back, but 15m ( and by all accounts it may just be 12m ) I think he would be a great addition. He is the type of defender I look at and think "yeah, I'd have him all day long at Everton given the chance".
