"Williams had not played in any pre-season matches having been given an extended break after captaining Wales"

I take it then that it will be a few weeks before we see him if jags and funes mori are fit

Think getting Galloway out on loan is a great move. At the minute he's backup for us but if he can play weekly in the championship it can't but benefit us. Newcastle have premier league training set up and a good manager so he's in good hands.

Good to see Ron finally starting to add a spine to the squad that Martinez wrecked and planning for the future too

Hopefully kone cleverly and Mcgeady out the door next

Jags isn't even fit.

Meh signing. Certainly not a replacement for Stones. This is one of the worst transfer windows ever, even with a couple of weeks to go. Can't see any decent signings on the horizon

I was amazed to read Galloway is going on loan. I thought he made a big impression on Koeman in last season's game at St Mary's. Poor move, imo. He doesn't need to step down a division, especially if we're playing that new Johnstones Trophy competition this season. There was at least 4 games there for him and the possibility of more after the group stages. Benitez will ruin him.

Gone on loan mate because he's not good enough,he obviously likes holgate more.

Whooooooooooooooooa 4 games?

Thats really gonna help a player kick on.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:

I actually agree with the hefty fellow from Birkenhead on this one

It's better for Galloway to get 30-40 games in The Championship this season than 3-4 for us

I'm hopeful that when he gets back at the end of the season, he gets a proper chance in the team, possibly alongside Williams as one half of the first choice CB pairing
