Stek alone stopped it being at least four for City. Stek and Williams combined stopped it from being at least seven.

It was in many ways a two man team today.

Mate apart from Jags brain freeze the defence played well. I can only think of 2 saves from open play that Stek did well with and was not run of the mill saves. We restricted them very well apart from 2 woeful decisions from Jags that any experienced player would not do. A team with Aguero, Bruyne and Silva will test any team.

Give him the armband, Jagielka does absolutely nothing as a leader on the pitch. Never speaks to refs, never defends one of our boys during a push and shove and never shouts at anyone for a mistake. Williams is great at all of this.

Could not agree more. The captaincy is a burden for Jags, and one he does not carry well. His game has improved ever since Williams arrived and took over as the #1 CB, taking the defensive leadership duties away from him - it stands to reason that taking the team leadership duties away too will take even more pressure off him.

Williams has captaincy experience in the prem and at international level, and the evidence suggests that his standard of play does not suffer when leading the team. He's a guaranteed starter, due to being our best central defender, so it's an easy call IMHO.

Yep. Have to agree. Jags looks punch drunk and is a mistake waiting to happen.
