Anyone else find it funny listening to all the pundits moan about how Arsenal should have signed him.
Saying Mustafi is poor in comparison and offer neither the presence or leadership skills of Williams, even if it just for a couple of seasons.

The bigger picture for me is we now have a very solid looking back 4, a Kante clone in Gana, pace all across the wings and a deadly striker in Rom when he is in the mood.

Early days of course but we do look an exciting side to keep an eye on this campaign (I just dread the AFCON).

Yep, him and Jagielka will be central to what we do over the next couple of years.
Aye. I know that some of this comes down to the defensive work Koeman has no doubt been working on with regards to shape and the pressing from front to back he's been implementing but we look about 10 times more solid at the back than we did over the last few years.
Both him and Jags have that ability to defend last ditch as well as block shots, both positionally very aware and are solid if unspectacular on the ball. The one weakness the two have is that they aren't the strongest in the air.
We look very organised at the back which can only be a good thing.

arsenal's transfer policy (bar one player every summer) has been appalling and laughable for about 6 or 7 years

What impresses me about the lad is how quickly he has settled into the club. I had no doubt of his abilities as a player, but when you consider is captain of the Welsh team who'd just got to the semis at the euros, but what's also impressed me, he is a defender of some standing in the game, leading his country to the semis at the euros and has settled so seemlessly into the team. He isn't disappointed to have lost his reputation as his clubs best player (Swansea) instead he has focuses on what he can do well, organising our defence to make them a much more compact and focused unit.
