Never understood why people were so worried about us signing Williams, I knew he would be brilliant. Of course you want the team to be as stable as possible and not have to replace players all the time, but football is all about the here and now. If a player can come in and make the team better even if it's just for a few years you have to take it.

We should no longer be a YTS club, the kids that come in have to make an impact and certainly shouldn't be able to come in and mess around in our own area because they think they are above us. (Bet you can't guess who I'm on about! :p ) Not that I'm against youth coming in, but no more of that 'he will be good in x amount of years/games time'.

Just imagine if we had this team last year when all the big name clubs were in crisis...

Its also excellent for our younger players to feed off there experience and learn the game from established good players

Anyway, he was immense last night, after every Sunderland attack he was screaming at the midfield to do better, everytime an Everton player cleared their lines he was the first over giving them a pat on the arse, even Jags is a different player next to him vocal and demanding both of them.

A wonderful signing.

Make him captain.

It was clear he would be a no-nonsense defender in the Lescott/Distin mould. Big, fast, strong, good defensive nouse. The only question is longevity.. how long can he carry on at this level?
