He is 33 now and we're 14 games into the season.

32 and never got a big move from Swansea before that. There is a reason.

Average defender and showing that here.
well that in itself is not a reflection on ability. His age is also not a factor on how good or bad he is. He isn't playing well but that isn't as a result of decline due to age, the whole team is getting ragged about. He's just a scapegoat you seemed to have latched onto.

We've gone full circle from a centre half who thinks he's Maradona to one who is so ale house it's painful.

Loads of times against United he could have brought the ball down and played it on instead he just headed back to them or booted it as hard as he could.

Not a fan am not going to lie

Of course age is a factor.

It is nature that our abilities deteriorated with age.

Don't think he played well yesterday but was excellent against Utd and overall has been good. Needs a better partner who compliments him - i.e. a ball playing cb with a bit more pace and tenacity.

SIGN VIRGIL FFS

As a person ages, their reflexs, speed, etc deteriorate.

Why we are signing players who are coming towards their retiring ages for £12m is not the best plan, is it?
But management decided for the 2 or 3 years ESTIMATED time he has left he was worth that as his positives outweighed his shorter career for us. We both don't know when he will retire or when his body will deteriorate.

Judging by his performances for us so far, he is looking every bit a deteriorating player.
