He might have stirred himself to put in a performance last night but this feller has been dreadful for most of the season (and that's from someone who desperately wanted him in). And I dont see any leadership quality whatsoever. He's had younger players alongside him and I dont see him organising that back four at all or offering encouragement or pointers. His squabble with Lukaku last night was out of order and looks terrible in terms of team spirit. Having a go at Lukaku who's been immense this season and carried the team - if he'd been a stalwart himself this season rather than a huge disappointment you just might accept that squalid set-to with RL, but he's been hopeless.

He's way short of pace and his judgement is chronic. I sincerely hope we're buying this lad Keane to partner someone like Holgate next season and waving out the door Jagielka and Williams.

You say you don't see him organising the defence or offering pointers to the younger players, also that you haven't seen any leadership qualities however you then go on to say that he shouldn't be having a go at Lukaku as he's been immense all season... Do you wan him to be a leader or not?

He has every right to bark orders at Lukaku to hold up play or whatever it was, Lukaku isn't untouchable because he's scored the lions share of goals, in the system we got ourselves into last night we needed him to hold the ball to allow us to push up, he couldn't do that and when he did his passing to either Barkley/DCL and Mirallas before was sloppy.

Lukaku is in attack. My point is that he's not shown leadership qualities or any form himself in defence.

And his attack on Lukaku was embarrassing from a man who's own team ethos was questioned in that Wales/Ireland international.

He's cracking on in terms of age and not the answer for us. I'd sell him on quickly and cut our losses. Plenty of better players out there.

Williams has been our best defender this season. In hindsight we probably overpaid but the alternative would've been more Pennington/Funes Mori etc.

This notion that he has 'flopped' is utter nonsense and such talk should be ridiculed lest it gain currency.

maybe true, but doesnt mean we shouldnt be looking on a massive upgrade across the centre back positions. id replace all 3 seniors
