I am dissappointed that such a strong leader for Wales and Swansea wasnt brought in as Captain? I thiugh we were buying him for his leadership qualities, which is something we desperately need! This team is too polite on the oitch, they should be screaming at each other when people are just going through the motions!
 

Seems to have come in and become everyone's best mate. This lot are too busy being chums to win anything. Thought a corner was being turned when he called Lukaku out but know they're all back to smiling and laughing after yet another defeat.

If he doesn't bring any leadership then he's an average prem centre back. We need better. He's at the peak of his career and he's on the same level as Jagielka who was at the necessary level 10 years ago pre cruciate injury. That shows you how far Williams Jags is behind Lescott Jags of 07/08.

That's down to the system though.

Just like how United seem to cycle through a squad of world class centre backs, when in reality, its a bunch of limited centre backs who have had successive defensive managers.

We need at least 2 centre backs this summer. What's frightening, is that Jagielka looks the most deserving of another season as back up, and he is clearly past it.

He has been the one ever present in that system all season.

Williams is excellent, i find him a strange one on here, he hasnt been helped by an ever changing cast of partners at centre half and full backs. I think he is an excellent player and our defensive record is significantly better then last season.
 
I think he is a better defender than Stones. He is a short term solution. Koeman will buy 1/2 CB soon.
