I'm extremely concerned we are paying over the odds for a 32 year old.
Simply making that known.
If you get 2 years out of him and he helps reduce the goals we concede by 10/15/20 then it's worth every penny.

He is exactly what we needed last year.
You can't really be concerned, can you?I'm extremely concerned we are paying over the odds for a 32 year old.

I'm not sure what Koeman is planning in terms of partnerships, but I have a real feeling that a pairing of Jags and Williams could be absolutely boss.
Takes me back to thinking of the old Stubbs and Weir partnership. Not quick or particularly cultured - but both had incredible reading of the game and just knew exactly where to be.
In fact, Williams and Jags are both younger, fitter and quicker than Stubbs and Weir - so potentially even better. I just think they have a huge amount of experience between them both domestically and internationally, as well as plenty of pride, desire and heart. Think the pair of them could give us a really solid platform to build on.
Funes Mori still gives me the jitters to be honest - but I dare say he'd also improve alongside Williams. But Jags/Williams I'm weirdly excited about.
You think 10 million is over priced for a 32 year old centre half with a good 2/3 years left in the tank in the current market? Plus he's classed as homegrown as he is English (Even though he plays for Wales)I'm extremely concerned we are paying over the odds for a 32 year old.

Best be! Jagielka should not be starting games this season. If we're into all this niceness then keep him as club captain by all means, but give the matchday armband and team captaincy to Williams or Coleman.I'm sorry but Williams is being bought to replace Jagielka, not partner him. He'll play alongside Stones/Funes Mori (that's if he's being bought at all, of course)

... apart from of his national side.Hmmm....you were doing well up until that point!
I like him, good player, but no leader of anything!

Sterling, a nothing player, sold for 50m and affects nothing on the football field.
Jordan Ibe, another nothing player, has been bought for 15m recently.
Williams, proven to be one of the best centre backs in the Premier League and somebody who has the attributes (strong, good in the air, vocal, a proven leader) our defence has been missing for years, for around 10m? What's to even consider?
Said it before, but if there is any small chance we could get Stones to stay and partner him with Williams I would be in dreamland; the perfect defensive combination. Think it's clear Stones is going though, so I look forward to Mori or a new player forging a partnership with Williams over the next 3 or 4 years - it's clear he looks after his body and is still very, very much in his prime.
You're right, I guess. Markovic has been completely useless, but Benteke should have been brilliant for them but somehow didn't perform then got a terrible injury and looks finished. Lallana blows very much hot and cold, never worth the 25m or so they paid for him. Lovren also hot and cold, but a good player on his day. Anyway, enough about that lot.I think your being unfair to our neighbours here quoting Sterling and Ibe as overpriced useless donkeys. Personally I would of used players like Markovic, Lallana, Lovren, Benteke etc etc, Just to keep the peace, No stereotyping etc.
