Williams isn't an 'exciting' signing, but definitely a solid, necessary one.

As for getting VVD for £10m, that's absolutely ridiculous @bizzaro mate, they'd want at least £25m/£30m

I think it's a big sign of intent myself going and grabbing their club captain and obviously a prized asset for them - and think he will do a cracking job over the next few years.

Underwhelmed here to be honest.

Positives if we signed him, are he is physical, good in the air and Premier League experienced.

This can't be a long term fix though, not at his age.

Id be shocked if anyone would think its a long term fix. He would however come in and be a massive improvement on lots of things we require. Not least leadership.

If we were signing an Italian defender aged 32 with 65 caps for £10m then nobody would care. As it is a Welsh bloke who just happens to be proven in the league people are moaning.

No idea if we will end up getting him but can't see any bad in this deal.
