Nothing against Young. He's trying. It's all on the man who picks him.
This is my take on it. Young as a squad player makes some sense considering our finances, and he's shown at least that he can sometimes perform.

But Dyche starting him regularly is negligent. Patterson isn't perfect either, but for whatever reason the boss doesn't rate him.

After Coleman I think Garner is our best right back.

If dyche is adamant that he won’t drop gana then play garner right back and at least give an option for a natural wideman to be able to play.

At least Danjuma and Harrison have a vague goal threat.

Young should only be used to plug gaps as and when required.

To be honest don't think it matters who we play the formation leaves the fullbacks wide open .
They play narrow leaving acres of space around them, the wide player has space to attack
then the other team drops another player into the space they leave when they come out to the wide player.
Leaving an overload on the fullbacks
Game after game other teams target the crossfield ball into that exact area .
It's a formation that has well and truly been seen through and we carry on doing it every week with the same results.
Same with the defence from corners, just play it short. Or just put it outsides the area nobody is there, Or wait for it us to clear and hit it back in again as we have everbody marking space inside of the area.
It's a rerun of Rafas time here odd good game but on the whole nearly every team has well and truly got it boxed off.
It's amateur standard. Tactics easy to get around and out of date.

Our best player the first couple of games. Rapidly gone down hill since.
We have wingers that refuse to go past a man, and full backs that don’t know how to overlap.

Main reason why are struggling imo.

He definitely wasn't as Villa away was the 2nd game and he was bloody abysmal.

Our best player for a couple of pre season games perhaps.

Signing a 38 year old player never ever makes sense in any context. Some of us were trying to point out that players of that age are more likely than not to completely drop off a cliff and be finished overnight, but people wouldn’t have it because “he was good for Villa last season bro”. People using Barry as a comparison who was 32 when we signed him, utterly clueless.

It’s complete nonsense to sign a 38 year old who isn’t a backup keeper, you’re signing a player that you immediately have to think about replacing because you know they aren’t going to be here beyond this season. Absolutely pathetic piece of business.

Why didn’t he just clear the football? Trying to take touches on the goal line ? Wtf
Oh yes, we signed him for his vast experience - that ball should have been kicked into the paddock row Z - trapping the ball on the line then kicking it on to an oncoming forward - what possibly could go wrong ?

Pathetic signing 38 years old - finished & we sign him ... Everton that ....

The reason Harrison did so well against Villa was because Patterson offered the over lap every time which created an option or the freedom for Harrison to drift inside.

Young can’t offer that any more. Myko can’t either.

Patterson has to start at RB

Its totally bizarre to see Harrison and Patterson look like they could be a good pair on the right then to have them both benched.

Utter madness. Patterson got an assist and was dropped before, Young has a mare every game and is undisputed starter.

Theres just no logic beyond Young being his mate.

Also why do we setup with no right winger when Patterson plays so he's alone on the right flank? In the 2-3 games when he's had a winger who he can provide the overlap for and then get cover - he does well.

Instead, Garner at RM so we can be ineffective everywhere. Balance, in a way.

Exactly. Dyche is damaging us at RB, RW and CM with these decisions.

Even me the guy who only wants u21 signings thought he could be fine as a squad player and perhaps kind of a mentor to our full backs and wingers especially.

It seems utter insanity to me to keep starting someone who is always the worst on the pitch.

We signed him because he didn’t cost us anything and there was no competition for his signature.

Or because hes a mate and ex team mate of Dyches looking for a last pay day.
