Because Patterson almost gave away a pen on Diaz and then got rinsed by him for their pen

And yet. surprisingly enough, he wasn't walked past by anyone, he could keep up with play and didn't have the stupidity and desperation to get himself sent off with nearly an hour of the game left to play. I'm no fan of Patterson, but, he is currently streets ahead of Young. Young is finished at this level, it's obvious every time he plays. Week after week Young costs us and yet he starts again the week after.

He’s diving in when he’s on a yellow cos he can’t hack the pace of the game. Let’s try and develop Patterson - blocking his way with a 38 year old whose legs have gone is detrimental to us

Agreed. The refs inconsistency today doesn't change the fact Young deserved both his yellows. What was he thinking for the 2nd? Felt like the challenge of a player who couldn't accept getting done like that.

Very stupid second tackle. Clear yellow. Showed him the ouside but not quick enough to get there. And why does he seem to get a yellow card every game within the first 10 mins? Should be cover, not first choice.
He’s 38 years old and the opponent he comes up against is almost always an elite tuned athlete, primed at 100% fitness and pace during those first minutes. He shouldn’t be starting games at this level, at full back, ever.

I am glad that he got a red card in a game we were probably going to lose anyways. A blessing in disguise. Our fullbacks are costing us every time
