Do people saying they don't care about this do so to ease the pain if we lose? Even just getting to the final would represent one of the best moments in the life time of any Evertonian under the age of 35.

The fact we've shifted 4000 tickets also tells you it's a game we should be taking seriously.

Not as important as the upcoming league matches, so run out the second team. This team realistically has zero shot at beating the likes of City and Arsenal for the cup this year so focus on some real stability. Id say the original lineup there makes sense, DCL and McNeil are likely to start the Luton match so Beto and Danjuma can start here. Rest at least one of the midfielders if not two, and maybe let Garner play the middle. Get some time to some players like Patterson and Dobbin, protect from injuries, and get on to beating Luton and Bournemouth.

yup

I can understand fielding a strongish team, but players like McNeil (who has just fully recovered from injury, Dom who is an injury risk every time he twerks, Beto who we absolutely cannot afford to lose) may need to see limited minutes if at all. Should be a good chance to test Patterson and Myko together and see if we can turn them into a cohesive unit (Myko did a much better job getting forward against Brentford) and Danjuma and Harrison. Even the likes of Dobbin might find some joy against a weakened Villa side. Tarks and Brant should probably be okay. Maybe Onyango for Onana as he has seen a lot of minutes this season. Might need a little rest.

The 'all Merseyside derby' in 84 was a great weekend mate. Leicester Square on the Saturday night wad something to behold. Live to dream.

I think we need to shake the small club mentality IE not being bothered about a cup run the league is more important, besides it'll be the RS or City anyway attitude. Once again we should not forget it's 28 years and counting since we last won a trophy and we've never won the League cup. I hope we field a strong
team and try getting past De Villa because they on the other hand won't be making this a priority and probably will have a weakened team. That will hopefully
give us the impetus.
