Atmosphere at Goodison

To be honest the atmosphere last night was better than the Hull game... There was plenty of encouragement from around me in GT5, GT6 had some lads trying to get the songs going which they did have a little success with, sometimes watching what seems like countless free kicks ending back at Howards feet is enough to wind the most ardent supporter up, please those who watch it on the telly you can get a different perspect of the pitch and the movement of players to that of those being sat in the stadium. Watching the defenders knock it about sometimes smacks of lack of imagination and the fear of losing possession. There is most definitely a fine balance to be made and we are very much on the cautious side at the minute. We know what the team can do, they set the bar high last year. we just want to see a glimpse of it again.

The overriding thought of last night were that whilst 3-1 was a good win which we needed, QPR were ripe for being absolutely annihilated and we took our foot of the gas and strolled for 35 minutes of the 2nd half.

Booing when we passed it back to the keeper at 3-1 seemed a bit rum in all honesty.

That being said, the crowd weren't quiet. That would suggest we made no noise. We did make noise, but in response to what we saw. Goodison is a reactive crowd and has been for a while now. It's just the way it is. To complain about it now is simply redudant. If you're that exercised by it, buy a ticket yourself and get down the ground. If you already buy a ticket, try and get a chant going. I managed to get about 20 people in my section to chant for a bit last night.

You're contradicting yourself a bit there.

I said on here ages ago that our crowd are reactive not proactive, it was not a compliment when I said it. I respect fans that are proactive as you need your wits about you to be so. Anyone can be reactive.

To say being reactive is just the way it is, and then give an example of you being proactive and of it working by getting 20 people chanting shows that it's not just the way it is, and that fans can do something about it.

Night games used to be an 'occasion' at goodison. Not anymore I'm afraid. The present style of play- slow and pedestrian is rubbing off on the mindset of the fans. Last season when we played at high tempo the atmosphere was so much better. Unfortunately a lot of our attacks have no end product, resulting in the ball going backwards which is killing the tempo at which we play and the enthusiasm of our supporters. Saying that the lack of support last night was still surprising.

Think the atmosphere will improve as the football gets better and when the team can but trusted again and not be prone to a defensive mishap every game.

And what is wrong with that, exactly? I thought Everton were a family club.

I'd much rather be that than a bunch of thuggish morons screaming abuse for 90 minutes.
Theme parks and cinemas are for families. Football grounds should be for working class males who want to vent their anger and frustrations to a cause they passionately follow.Everton used to be a big and loud following. Now its too conservative and boring.

I take issue with a lot of this post but I'll focus on the biggie: football is only for men, is it?

It's 2014 you sexist bore.

...the Old Lady will bounce again soon, believe me.
