I just wish there was a thread regarding Pizza Crusts

I don't know if you know this, but I'm a Senior Training Captain in the field of eating pizza. My ego would love nothing more than to display my superior knowledge on how to consume the crusts of said pizza.

I'd hate to appear like an arrogant tw@ and make my own thread regarding my opinion of it though
Carpe diem, baby.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

I've been flying almost every week with work for nearly 20 years. Never been on a flight that landed upside down. I wonder if the cabin crew will put a little extra emphasis on wearing the seat belt for landing this week.
It's the taking off of the seatbelt that you need to be worried about in the case of upside down arrival!

2 engines for a reason Sir...so you have another one should the other fail! All two engine aircraft certified for public transport must by design standard be able to maintain directional control with a failure of the most critical engine at the worst possible time (on take off) and at maximum weight.

Making your peace with flying, like any form of transport, is simply a process of risk management. We know statistics say that driving is more dangerous, however most of us happily accept that heightened relative risk compared to flying, with the mitigations of having safety equipment such as seatbelts and airbags, and increasing our awareness when behind the wheel.
Yup, I fly regularly. I am naturally a little risk-averse, but only when the odds are against me. With flying, they are massively in my favour. There's more chance of being killed crossing the street. Once you rationally weigh up the risk, the only time you really worry is when the people next to you are vomiting into their sick bags as we try an approach...

Actually, truth be told, it's the cabin staff I watch. If they look edgy, you have permission to panic.

erm, an approach of what? ...

Well @Rita_Poon Tex was a fine soul and enjoyed talking about a few things and I believe that includes airplanes.

He also like talking politics and was a quick draw, so to speak. I’m not sure his personality would fit the stress of flying an airplane.

Then again maybe he’d make a great boomer airline Captain.
