Transfer Rumour Axel Witsel

That's up to him, but patience is running thin . If his people are sensible then yes.
Time will tell, if we're running out of patience you'd have to think it's now or never for a potential deal to be done, wait much longer and we risk missing out on other targets.

woah! wasn't expecting that, in my opinion we don't need both. especially with barry, barkley and mccarthy whilst giving gibson a new contract, i'm a big fan of davies, besic is there as well. If we add an attacking play maker which would push ross back up the pitch (my preference rather than the manager's i suppose). Even though most of those names aren't great, there's a lot of numbers. Based on that i'm presuming the rumours on mccarthy going are true. I suppose with the sale of stones we could afford both, a new keeper, a playmaker a backup striker and a centre back ... or two.

It may sound somewhat perplexing for some, but if we do actually pull the plug on the transfer ourselves then I'd actually be quite content.

Not because I wouldn't want him here, yet rather because it would be a clear sign of our own mentality with regards to how we manage transfers.

For years we've often been outmuscled by other clubs or taken for a ride by players and their agents; saying enough is enough shows savviness.

We'll either walk away with money still in our packet and bring in a more committed talent, or we'll push the deal through in our favour.

Obviously his signature for a price that suits us would be the ideal outcome, but either way I think we're in a more confident position.

Got a feeling we are selling McCarthy...especially if we pull of both of these

If both those players did come in then at least one of Barry, McCarthy or Besic would potentially leave in the summer window.

Ideally it would be McCarthy as arguably he's been the least affective as of late, yet would still demand the highest fee due to a few fators.

Personally, I think under Koeman he could be a better player as he was somewhat lost under Martinez but that's purely ifs and buts.

Can't see us still being interested if he was decided he doesn't want to play for Everton. My fear is that if we keep negotiating with Zenith we won't leave ourselves sufficient time to get in a different player.

Yeah doesn't seem right, at the end of the day his 'people' work for him, so if Zenit are happy with the transfer fee, Witsel is happy to come to us, and happy with the contract on offer, then surely he just tells his people to get it done and dusted, not the other way round, and his people dictating to him.

Isn't one of them his dad/agent?
