I wouldn't have called them mercenaries, Dacourt would be perfect for our midfield now.
Dacourt is 41 mate, swerve!

I wonder if it is poor advice, or if hes just a money grabber. if hes just a money grabber why isn't he coming as quick as his little legs will carry him to sign up if we're offering more than anyone. this one really is weird. he goes off to Russia (you only go there for money right?) now he wont come to a better league for more money?Witsel is just poorly advised, the difficulty is it can significantly effect his career.
At some point, blues are going to have to accept the fact that we're not going to sign players who will necessarily die for the shirt.
We're going to sign mercenaries who don't care.
And you know what? That's fine, because a lot of the time, that means success and it brings its own success.
as long as they want money AND want to win i'm fine with it. what we don't want are people on huge wages who get here and don't perform because they just wan the money and have no interest in earning it. If they don't care about the club before they get here (i'm sure they will after being here ) but actually want to try and win for themselves and their career that's all good by meYes,
I hope we do.
It's nice when you can have a bit of both though; quality and reciprocated affection. It's why Gerard Deulofeu makes me tingle in special places.
I wish journalists would do some basic research into stories before publishing them. The quote was from Alain Goblet who is Witsel's financial advisor (also happens to be Lukaku's financial advisor) not his footballing agent, Mondial.
And too Funes Mori. I think we can balance them but we're going to get players who are arsed about money and winning and they're going to take the mick.
A lot of people will have to accept that.
City is full of over paid players who won't leave because they get a whopping great bonus at the end of their contractsIn this day and age, you're absolutely right. It's a tough ask.
I'd look at City to be honest. They have a lot of big money players but not too many whoppers, and some who give it everything and seem like decent role models. Every player is a mercenary by some yard stick -- it's their job so of course money is important to them -- but it's possible to still sign sound players who won't cause the club too much hassle. And let's not forget, you don't need to be a superstar to be a tit.
