Appreciate there is nothing in the press but on at least 2 occasions we have been extremely close to concluding as indeed we are now, assuming he commits.

It´s binary though isn´t it? We can´t really be close to concluding the deal unless he actually has committed.

Do you mean that he´s twice been close to agreeing only to then change his mind? If that´s what you´re saying I understand, but otherwise it looks more like Everton putting in a big bid for a player who´s just not keen on joining the club.

If that´s the case our bid has probably just hurt Witsel, since it has prevented Zenit from accepting a bid from a club he probably does want to join, i.e Juventus.

Zenit shall push him out of the door in the end. Doubt Juve would bid the amount we offer on the table, it is clear they want to get him on cheap.

We are doing Witsel no favours by stopping him going to Juventus and Witsel is doing us none by not telling us he definitely not signing, leaving us in limbo. When we could instead persue more gettable targets in.

I have to agree mate really. Which is a shame as I really want him. But see it as still highly unlikely.

Close in that we've had a bid accepted by his club, had personal terms agreed, Witsel has obviously authorised the discussions as if he only wanted to go to Juventus he'd not have anything to do with us.

We're at the alter waiting for an "I do"- not however as a desperate bride....

It's feel like he uses us to get better deal elsewhere. All along. It takes far too long to commit.
