Close in that we've had a bid accepted by his club, had personal terms agreed, Witsel has obviously authorised the discussions as if he only wanted to go to Juventus he'd not have anything to do with us.

We're at the alter waiting for an "I do"- not however as a desperate bride....

I guess he is hoping Juve would offer a deal close to the one we offer, whether in terms of wages or transfer fee right after Pogba is sold. In the end, Zenit will not let him just sit here and leave on a free.

Neither, I am saying there were contractual issues between player and agent. I have no idea what they were though

I have to agree mate really. Which is a shame as I really want him. But see it as still highly unlikely.

I think he'd be great. But if he's tricky to deal with, with other clubs having issues in previous windows and his reps changing the goalposts twice already, it's tough to expect anything at all. Promising talks regardless.

Witsel has been waiting for Pogba to leave Juventus, he will sign for Juventus within the next week

Meanwhile, Everton have been happy to play second fiddle to this for weeks, with other targets moving to other clubs.

Agree with the first bit, he seems to be hoping juve come in with a higher bid, but doubt we have not started looking at alternatives.
